Ageing Well: Long Term Survivors Workshop Series: Session 3

Ageing Well:  Long Term Survivors Workshop Series

Session 3:  Reflection, Motivation and Fulfilment: Harnessing Wisdom for Growth

Date: Thursday 5 November 2026
Time: 12pm to 3pm
Venue: Angel Centre, Salford (Rainbow Mind/Mind in Salford), Lowry Conference Room

Who is this for?

This workshop is open to people diagnosed with HIV before 2000.

This is the final session in our three part Long Term Survivors Workshop Series, recognising the unique experiences of people who have lived with HIV over many decades and the wisdom, resilience and strength developed along the way. For many long term survivors, there has been little opportunity to explore the lasting impact of those experiences alongside others who truly understand them.

Through discussion, shared stories and creative activities, the series provides a supportive space to reflect on significant life experiences, remember loved ones, and recognise the resilience, wisdom and strengths developed through living with HIV.

As the workshops explore themes of trauma, loss and personal experience, some discussions may be emotional. A sensitive and supportive approach will be taken throughout. Participants are welcome to bring photographs, objects or other personal items that connect them to meaningful moments in their life with HIV.

About Session 3

As the final session in the series, this workshop will focus on looking forward while recognising the wisdom gained through a lifetime of experiences. Participants will explore how resilience, personal strengths and lessons learned through adversity can support their future wellbeing.

Through discussion, reflection and creative activities, we will consider sources of motivation, meaning and fulfilment, as well as the importance of connection and community. Together, we will reflect on what has been learned throughout the series and how these insights can help support continued growth and wellbeing.
