HIV Testing
If you are sexually active, testing regularly for HIV is the right thing to do.
HIV testing has never been easier. There are more places to test for HIV than ever before, and you can even test at home.
Knowing your HIV status puts you in control of your health and means you can access the medical treatment and support you need to stay well. With early diagnosis, treatment and healthcare, people living with HIV can expect a normal life expectancy. You can only know your HIV status by taking a HIV test.
Anyone who is sexually active should test regularly for HIV. HIV testing is free and confidential when you use a sexual health clinic, your GP or get a test through a community organisation, such as LGBT Foundation or BHA for Equality.
If you do receive a positive result, George House Trust is here to provide you with the support you may need. We will be able to talk with you about your diagnosis and will be able to help you understand what living with HIV might mean for you. You can take a test at your local sexual health clinic. Testing may also be available from voluntary organisations in your area.
