Calabash/Aging Well Session: Erectile Dysfunction, Penile Health & Male Fertility
George House Trust invites you to an open and informative session on men's sexual health as part of our Aging Well series, led by two of Manchester's leading urology consultants.
This session offers a safe, judgement-free space to talk about topics that are often hard to raise elsewhere — including erectile dysfunction, penile health, and male fertility. No question is too awkward, and no topic is off-limits.
Meet our speakers:
Professor Vaibhav Modgil is a Consultant Urological Surgeon and Andrologist at the Manchester Andrology Centre, Manchester Royal Infirmary. He is one of the highest-volume penile prosthesis and Peyronie's disease surgeons in the UK, and is also part of the reproductive medicine team at St Mary's Hospital, specialising in male factor infertility surgery. He is Vice Chair of the BAUS Andrology and Genito-urethral surgery committee and Director of the Manchester Andrology Research Collaborative (MARC).
Professor Ian Pearce is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Manchester Royal Infirmary, where he's practised since 2002. He has a specialist interest in andrology, covering all aspects of male sexual dysfunction including erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation and Peyronie's disease, and is the largest implanter of penile prostheses in the North West. He has been elected President of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS) from June 2024 to June 2026, and has published over 100 papers, lecturing extensively around the world.
We'll explore:
- Understanding erectile dysfunction and its common causes
- Penile health — what to look out for and how to maintain it
- Male fertility and factors that can affect it
- Practical steps for prevention and when to seek support
- Breaking the stigma around men's health conversations
This is a space to learn, ask questions, and get honest, expert answers.
