Calabash session: Ai Awareness

Discover how AI can make everyday tasks simpler, clearer and more manageable. This two‑hour, hands‑on session will be led by Aydin Djemal, Chief Executive Officer of BHA for Equality, a charity dedicated to addressing health inequalities in Black and other minoritised communities. Aydin will guide you through what AI is, how it works and how you can start using it confidently in your daily life — no experience needed at all.

Across the session, we’ll explore the major AI tools — Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot — and show how they compare. You’ll also see how modern AI can understand not just text but also images and documents, opening up new ways to get support.

We’ll cover practical, real‑life uses including:

  • Writing CVs, cover letters and emails

  • Researching topics and summarising long documents

  • Translating text and understanding complex letters

  • Using AI on your phone — including voice input and camera tools

  • Photographing real‑world items to get instant explanations

  • Finding reliable health and wellbeing information

Everything will be demonstrated live on both laptop and mobile so you can learn on the device you use most. Please bring your laptop and your phone — you’ll be trying things out yourself throughout the session.

If you have any questions or access requirement please contact Jeff.
