Calabash Liverpool Session: Attending Africa Oye Festival

Calabash Liverpool: Africa Oyé Festival, Saturday 20 June 2026

Following discussions at our last Calabash session, there was unanimous agreement that members of the Calabash African Men’s group would like to attend the Africa Oyé Festival at Sefton Park in June 2026.

As this year’s festival is a ticketed event, unlike previous years when it was free, we are planning to purchase ten tickets. These tickets will be offered to ten African men who wish to attend the festival on Saturday 20 June 2026.

Please note that travel costs will not be reimbursed and food will not be provided, as the available funds will be used solely to cover the cost of the festival tickets.

Africa Oyé is the United Kingdom’s largest celebration of African and Caribbean music and culture. It returns to Sefton Park on 20 and 21 June 2026 and has been a key part of Liverpool’s cultural calendar since 1992. The festival is widely recognised as a family friendly and vibrant celebration of music, culture and community.

If you would like to attend, please register or email Jeff at Jeff@ght.org.uk
