World Aids Day 2025 (Evening)

World AIDS Day 2025 Evening

We are looking for volunteers to support with fundraising and awareness-raising on World AIDS Day. 

Purpose: To increase awareness of HIV and World AIDS Day and raise vital funds for local charities providing support to people living with HIV. 

Key Activities: We need volunteers to sell candles to raise funds, and steward for annual Candlelit Vigil in Sackville Gardens and surroundings on the evening of Monday 1st December 2025.

Activities include:

• Selling candles at the World AIDS Day Candlelit Vigil
• Raising awareness of HIV and the significance of World AIDS Day among the general public
• Talking to the public to share key messages on ending the stigma of HIV and HIV prevention (U=U, PrEP, PEP, condoms)
• Sharing resources and introducing George House Trust to the public

Date: Monday 1st December 2025

Time: 4pm - 7.15pm (Optional fundraising event approximately 7.15pm - 11pm)

Meeting point: LGBT Foundation, Fairbairn House (2nd Floor), 72 Sackville Street, Manchester, M1 3NJ

Event Location: Sackville Gardens, Whitworth St, Sackville St,  Manchester M13WA - and around Canal Street/The Village

Optional additional fundraising event: Gay Village, Manchester (7.15pm- 11pm) - we need around 6 volunteers for this, please let us know if you'd like to join. There will be time for break/s if you are doing both fundraising shifts.
