Acupuncture - Spring Group Therapy

Acupuncture is a treatment derived from ancient Chinese medicine. Fine needles are inserted at certain sites in the body for therapeutic or preventative purposes.

It is used in many NHS GP practices, as well as in most pain clinics and hospices in the UK.

Acupuncture is often seen as a form of complementary or alternative medicine.

We are working with Michelle Croston, HIV Clincal Nurse Specialist, who is a trained acupuncturist to deliver a six week therapeutic programme. Everyone who attends the course will receive the same treatment plan.

The therapy we are delivering is 'auricular' or ear acupuncture. Fine needles are placed in different parts of the ear to stimulating sensory nerves under the skin. This results in the body producing natural substances, such as pain-relieving endorphins. It's likely that these naturally released substances are responsible for the beneficial effects experienced with acupuncture.

The programme runs for six weeks, and we would like you to commit to all six sessions to ensure you get the maximum benefit from the therapy.
