Talking HIV - Write Here, Right Now

Join us to try out some creative writing exercises and techniques, to express yourself and your personal story or journey of living with HIV.

You can share as much or as little as you like. It’s your choice whether you want to share your own story of living with HIV, or create something fictional (or a bit of both).

No writing experience is needed, all levels welcome.

The session will be guided by Izzy Zimsek, Volunteering Manager at George House Trust and poet, with support from Ben Bamber, Peer Support Team Leader and trained counsellor, with the support of our wonderful volunteers. We recognise that for some people, it may be emotionally difficult or triggering to reflect on your personal experiences, so we want to reassure you that mental health support will be available on the day.

There will be the opportunity to share your writing at a showcase in early 2026 alongside people from our Women’s group and Skilling Up project. This is entirely optional.

This event is open to all registered service users

Lunch will be provided from 12.00 pm with the workshop beginning at 1.00 pm
