Adela's Story
Adela Mugabo is a Services Adviser at George House Trust, a charity which supports people living with HV in Greater Manchester. As a Services Adviser, Adela carries out front line work with people living with HIV (PLIHIV), giving information, advice, and support as well as advocacy work.
She is a trustee for Catholics for AIDS Prevention & Support (CAPS) and the founder of Positive Faith Manchester. CAPS is a network of Christians in Britain and Ireland dedicated to promoting HIV prevention and support.
Adela has over 17 years of experience in HIV and mental health. As a dedicated HIV activist, she was honoured with The Women and Health Award by Manchester City Council for her impactful work with women living with HIV. This award celebrates pioneering women who have made remarkable contributions to the city.
