Roger Youd Plaque has been attached to the Beacon of Hope
A new Plaque honouring Roger Youd has been added to the Beacon of Hope in time for Manchester Village Pride.
Roger Youd was detained against his will at Monsall Hospital after being diagnosed with HIV in 1985. After a sustained campaign, including by members of Manchester AIDSLine (now George House Trust), Roger was permitted to go home, but only after a sustained media storm. We're proud that Roger's memory, in collaboration with his friends and family, has been recognised on Manchester's Beacon of Hope.
