Michelle has almost 30 years of experience as an HIV Specialist Nurse and has dedicated her career to supporting people living with HIV through compassionate clinical care, education, and advocacy. Throughout this time, Michelle has witnessed transformative progress in HIV treatment, alongside the persistent social and structural challenges that continue to affect individuals and communities.
Michelle's work has always centred on ensuring that people living with HIV receive not only high‑quality healthcare but also the dignity, respect, and holistic support they deserve. In addition to her clinical role, Michelle has served as Chair of the National HIV Nurses Association, a position that strengthened her leadership skills and expanded her understanding of charity governance and the importance of strong, community‑focused organisations.
Michelle said about her appointment:
I am delighted that I have been appointed as a trustee at George House Trust because I deeply believe in its mission to empower and enhance the lives of people living with HIV. I bring extensive clinical expertise, a nuanced understanding of the emotional and social impact of HIV, and a long-standing commitment to challenging stigma and promoting equality. As a trustee, I hope to contribute my insight and experience to help shape strategies that make a meaningful and lasting difference.
