About the Event

This free workshop focuses on ageing well with HIV, increasing awareness of cancer, and supporting people to reduce risk, spot signs early, and stay active during and after treatment.

The afternoon will begin with a free buffet lunch at 12:30pm, followed by the workshop.

Cancer: Reducing the Risk and Spotting It Early

Presented by Katy Pownall, Cancer Awareness Nurse, Cancer Research UK

This session will raise awareness of cancer and cover:

  • Healthy lifestyle changes

  • Signs and symptoms to look out for

  • The importance of early diagnosis and screening

  • HIV and cancer, including anal cancer

  • Further information and support resources

The CAN-Move Service (Cancer Rehabilitation)

Presented by Tess Harrison, Cancer Rehabilitation Exercise Specialist

Tess will talk about the benefits of physical activity during and after cancer treatment, and how the CAN-Move Service supports recovery and wellbeing.

Additional speakers may be joining the workshop. This page will be updated once confirmed.

Who Can Attend?

  • Free to attend

  • Open to anyone aged 50 or over

  • Travel expenses will be reimbursed
