FAQs
World AIDS Day is an International Day of Awareness-raising, remembrance and action held on 1st December each year. We need volunteers to sell candles to raise funds, and steward for the annual Candlelit Vigil in Sackville Gardens and surroundings on the evening of Monday 1st December.
Activities include:
- Selling candles at the World AIDS Day Candlelit Vigil
- Raising awareness of HIV and the significance of World AIDS Day to the people
- Talking to the public to share key messages on ending the stigma of HIV and HIV prevention (U=U, PrEP, PEP, condoms)
- Sharing resources and introducing George House Trust to the public
Volunteer briefing starting at 4.30pm (please arrive from 4pm), volunteering until and during the Vigil from 6pm to 7.15pm.
There is an additional opportunity to volunteer in the Village after the Vigil, until around 11pm - we will need around 6 volunteers to do this.
