  • Acting as a mentor and using the skills specific to your own job role to help develop the skills and confidence of your mentee;
  • Supporting your mentee in preparing job applications;
  • Developing your mentee’s interview skills;
  • Providing a listening ear for your mentee to voice concerns and fears about entering the job market and providing appropriate support and advice;
  • Developing a ‘job finding’ plan with your mentee.

There will also be opportunities to be a guest speaker at George House Trust’s skill building workshops and engagement days focusing on CV writing, interview techniques and sharing your own career journey.

Flexible – up to 4 hours per month.

Face-to-face at George House Trust, via telephone and / or Teams.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to listen to others and provide appropriate advice;
  • Understanding of confidentiality and commitment to always maintaining confidentiality;
  • Reliable with good organisational skills and time management;
  • Ability to work professionally and empathically with others;
  • A basic understanding of HIV and HIV stigma;
  • Confidence to speak openly about your specific area of work and your career.

Supervision will be provided by:

  • Check in with Project Coordinator at the end of the mentoring session.
