As a Volunteer Driver, you’ll be helping some of our most vulnerable service users to access hospital appointments and attend George House Trust groups and activities.
Volunteer Drivers are key to helping to reduce isolation and link people in with important services.
Key tasks include:
- Driving service users to and from George House Trust activities and their home;
- Driving service users to and from hospital/medical appointments and their home;
- Driving to/from other events/services, as deemed appropriate by George House Trust staff.
You must have some weekday daytime availability.
We are currently looking for Volunteer Drivers specifically in Liverpool. We work with people living with HIV in Liverpool City Council and we don't currently have a Volunteer Driver service in Liverpool.
We can also welcome new Volunteer Drivers living in Greater Manchester to support people living here.
- Full, clean UK driving licence - please note that we cannot accept non-UK driving licences;
- Good communication skills;
- You also need to have access to a vehicle which is insured and roadworthy;
- A commitment to attend volunteer team meetings regularly.
- George House Trust Volunteer Induction
An Enhanced DBS Check is required for this volunteer role, provided by George House Trust.
Supervision will be provided by:
- Team Meetings and briefing/debriefing with a member of George House Trust staff;
- Support from the Volunteering Manager is available on request.
