As a Volunteer Driver, you’ll be helping some of our most vulnerable service users to access hospital appointments and attend services at George House Trust.
Volunteer Drivers are key to helping to reduce isolation and link people in with important services.
Key tasks include:
- Driving service users to and from GHT and their home;
- Driving service users to and from hospital and their home;
- Driving to/from other events/services, as deemed appropriate by GHT staff.
You must have some weekday daytime availability.
This role is based mostly within the Greater Manchester area.
- Full, clean UK driving licence - please note that we cannot accept non-UK driving licences;
- Good communication skills;
- You also need to have access to a vehicle which is insured and roadworthy;
- A commitment to attend volunteer team meetings regularly.
- George House Trust New Volunteer Induction Training;
- Driving Induction from GHT Staff Member;
- A commitment to complete one update training session per year.
This role involves contact with vulnerable adults and an Enhanced Disclosure at the appropriate level is required for this volunteer role.
Supervision will be provided by:
- Team Meetings and briefing/debriefing with a member of George House Trust staff;
- Supervision from the Volunteer Co-ordinator is available on request.
