There is a varied program of workshops and group sessions delivered through Health, Wealth and Happiness events with at least one session taking place each month.  Sessions focus on a range of information topics such as health, general wellbeing and HIV-related issues. Sessions are open to anyone known to GHT who is fifty or over and themes are chosen from service user consultations.  As well as gaining useful information, group sessions are a good opportunity to meet people new people and learn and share opinions with peers.

Depending on the amount of support you feel you may need from your mentor, it could mean that you arrange to meet just once.  This may be enough to overcome one particular concern or experience.  However, you may agree with your mentor that you would want to meet  on a weekly or fortnightly basis for a period of time.

Peer mentoring can help with reducing loneliness and social isolation, building confidence, making contacts with other agencies and services and helping to manage issues related to HIV and ageing with someone who is in a good position to understand.
