Local Authority Support

Emergency Covid-19 helplines have been set-up by all 10 Greater Manchester boroughs. The helplines are manned by council workers and can offer support with food shopping, getting essential medicines, fuel and electricity payments and companionship.

They are generally aimed at people who fit into the following categories:

  • People who have received a letter from the government or have been advised by a medical professional that they are deemed to be highly vulnerable to Covid-19 and should shield for 12 weeks

  • People ages 70 or over and those with serious underlying health conditions

  • People who are socially or economically vulnerable

If you do not fit into any of these categories but you need support, please contact us at George House Trust by calling 0161 274 4499 and leaving a message of by emailing talk@ght.org.uk.
