The George House Trust Drag Ball is back for 2019!

The George House Trust Drag Ball will be returning and it is bigger than ever.

This celebration of Manchester’s vibrant drag scene will take place on Thursday 25th July at the O2 Ritz, and this year is inspired by the 50th anniversary of one of the most important historical events in the fight for LGBT rights, the Stonewall Riots.

The George House Trust Drag Ball will celebrate LGBT history through some incredible performances and a riotous party. The event will be our biggest Drag Ball yet, incorporating many genres of drag and some of Manchester’s most recognisable Queens.

Samuel Clarke, Community Fundraising Organiser at George House Trust said

“Manchester’s gay village and drag community have been huge supporters of George House Trust, both in their awareness raising and fundraising.

So many fantastic Queens support the work of George House Trust and with it being fifty years since Stonewall, we wanted to bring back our Drag Ball not only to highlight the importance of the drag community in LGBT history, but to celebrate the incredible ways that Manchester’s drag community supports people living with HIV.

Our last Drag Ball was a huge hit with the Queens and the public, so we’re thrilled to be able to bring it back.”

This year, the event is in memory of long time George House Trust supporter Anthony Molloy, who sadly passed away in April. Anthony was instrumental in previous George House Trust Drag Balls and the event would not have been possible without his incredible support and generosity.
