Health, Wealth & Happiness project is specifically designed for those living with HIV aged 50 and over

There is a varied program of workshops and group sessions delivered through Health, Wealth and Happiness events with at least one session taking place each month.  Sessions focus on a range of information topics such as health, general wellbeing and HIV-related issues. Sessions are open to anyone known to GHT who is fifty or over and themes are chosen from service user consultations.  As well as gaining useful information, group sessions are a good opportunity to meet people new people and learn and share opinions with peers.

We have a team of volunteers within Health, Wealth and Happiness who are trained to offer a flexible Peer Mentoring service. Peer mentoring can be a really valuable service, particularly if you are struggling with difficult changes in your life, feeling isolated or just feel having someone else to talk to would be helpful.

There is an opportunity for you to have up to three months peer mentoring and there is flexibility in terms of how the peer mentoring can work for you, including meeting at George House Trust, at home or within the local community.

To register for Health Wealth and Happiness events visit our website events section; or call 0161 274 4499.

Health, Wealth and Happiness delivers specific training to external agencies, focussing on improving knowledge and understanding of HIV and significant issues relevant to ageing with HIV.  HIV is no longer considered a life-limiting condition and people are living longer lives with HIV, therefore there is a real need for services for older people to be prepared and informed about some of the key issues affecting people ageing with HIV.

If you are an organisation working with ageing communities and groups, we would be happy to provide focussed training to your staff team around HIV and Ageing.  We can also provide Best Practice information packs and answer any questions you may have.  We are particularly keen to deliver training to residential homes, nursing homes and home care providers as well as other age-relevant services.
